Florin Marica brings his international acclaim and expertise in training top juniors to the Florin Marica Tennis Academy. After a successful career as a top ranked player in Romania, Florin moved to California where he began to work with young players. His optimistic attitude and experience in working with all ages enables Florin to provide moral support, crucial training tips, and strategic advantages for young people to succeed both on and off the court. Many of Florin‘s students have gone on to become Top 10 USTA Juniors and now play at the collegiate level and top universities. Florin‘s goal goes beyond helping young people win matches—he wants to mentor young people so that tennis positively impacts all areas of their life.

Val Mihai
Tennis Coach
Val started playing tennis at the age of 4 and developed a deep passion for the game by the time he was 10. Over his career, he has won more than 400 tournaments. He has been a national champion and a four-time conference champion in Division 1 men’s tennis, representing two different universities. He was awarded the MVP title three times during his college career.
As a former professional tennis player, Val achieved winning records against players currently ranked in the top 100.
Val has over 10 years of coaching experience in New York and an additional 5 years in California. His coaching career has spanned players of all levels, from beginners to professionals.
Jeremy Wei
Tennis Coach
Jeremy Wei, a USPTA certified tennis instructor has an impressive background rooted in his early passion for the sport. Throughout high school, he showcased his exceptional skills by playing as the number 1 seed in varsity singles for all four years. Jeremy’s journey in tennis began at the age of 8, laying the foundation for his extensive knowledge and expertise as a coach.
Jeremy’s commitment to excellence extends beyond the tennis court, as shown by his attainment of the Eagle Scout rank. His Scouting journey included hiking Yosemite’s Half Dome and organizing an after school tennis program for underserved youth in San Jose. With a background as both a top-level player and a dedicated mentor, Jeremy Wei brings a unique blend of experience and leadership to the world of tennis coaching. His dedication to the sport and his ability to show love for tennis in others makes him a valuable asset to players of all levels.
Scott Juang
Tennis Coach
Scott started playing tennis when he was 5 year olds. After moving to California, he began training at Sylvano’s Tennis Academy, where he was coached by a young Florin Marica. Scott competed in the NorCal USTA region, and achieved a peak ranking of 21 in high school. Scott was also on Saratoga High School’s varsity tennis team, won the SCVAL boy’s doubles tournament in 2006, and was a member of the 2004 CCS champion team.
In his free time outside of tennis, Scott is the senior director of business development at Weights & Biases, a startup in the AI industry. Scott also enjoys playing basketball, watching motor racing, and staying up to date on technology trends. Scott is married to his lovely wife, Annie; and father to two aspiring tennis players, Stephan and Sebastian.
